Safer Internet Day

Dear Parents

Annually, all school children around the world celebrate how to stay safe online in February; this year it will be on Tuesday 8th February. The aim is to promote keeping children safe and others safe online. At our school, we will be using our Computing sessions to promote and encourage sensible use of the internet; ask children to think critically and become good role models online. There are lots of great videos that you can watch with your children that will help you to explain how to stay safe and keep others safe; behave appropriately and use the internet purposefully. You can access resources by following the hyperlink: https://www.saferinternetday.org/en-GB/home.

The Digiduck® story collection has been created to help parents and teachers educate children aged 3 – 7 about how to be a good friend online. The collection includes a book, PDF, poster and interactive app.

It has been created in partnership with Internet Matters, an organisation that offers resources and expert advice to help parents keep children safe online.
