People Who Help Us

Governors

Governors work as a team. They are responsible for making sure the school provides a good quality education and raising educational standards in school is now a key priority. This has the best chance of happening when there are high expectations of what pupils can achieve.  Governors also promote effective ways of teaching and learning when setting the school aims and policies. They do this together with the Head teacher, who is responsible for the day to day management of the school. If you are interested in supporting our school as a governor in future look out for further details on this page when a vacancy arises.

School Councillors

These children are elected by their class members and are representatives for them in decision making and sharing ideas within the context of the wider school community. Initiatives which have been generated by the school councillors are the Dinner Time Table Champions, fundraising events and special assemblies and parties. Two key issues we are discussing at the moment are – How can we improve our learning environment? What makes learning fun? If you have any suggestions for these, or any other ideas, please see your class representative.

Mediators

The playground mediators are there to help you sort out any problems which happen during playtime in the playground. They will listen to both sides and help resolve any issues or problems which have happened. They are also there to help you find someone to play with if you need some help. Look out for the mediators they wear a blue jumper so you can easily see who they are.

Community Police Officers

We have good links with our two local officers. They have attended our school for lots of special events, including anti-bullying week, Bonfire Safety, competitions and have also supported our year 6 class in taking a team to a tag rugby tournament. We look forward to seeing them soon and will keep you posted on our events page.

Home/School Liaison Officer

Mrs Iqbal is here to develop and support links between parents and families and the school. She has arranged many events which involve parents visiting the school to take part in workshops, assemblies and fundraising events. Mrs Iqbal has also developed a good relationships with businesses in the local community, in particular ASDA and the local Fire Service. If you would like to become involved in any community events or have any ideas for Mrs Iqbal, or if you are a local business who would like to engage in a project with the school please speak to her.
