World Book Day 2022

Today, Redhill joined in  with children across the world for World Book Day - a day to celebrate our love of books and the benefits of reading for pleasure. This year we celebrated an amazing 25 years of World Book Day fun!

Pupils and staff had a wonderful day carrying our different activities in class. In the morning, we held a special assembly in which our School Librarians shared some of their favourite stories. Miss Sullivan told us about how World Book Day links to our rights as a Rights Respecting School. Mrs Hilton showed us the books we can get with our voucher.

Sana read an extract from ''Esio Trot"
Anniyah read an extract from "The Cruel Prince"
Adam read
Safiyyah read "Tom Gates"

We also sang along with MC Grammar's World Book Day song. See it and join in below!

Reading for Pleasure

This year, our School Librarians also visited some of the younger children in class during story time. They selected a variety of rich quality texts and read for pleasure. They were superb!

Anniyah (Y6) read ' to Reception

'Story in a Box' Competition

Our children also had a special challenge this year - to design a story setting in a box showing one of their favourite books. Winners from each class received a certificate and the overall school winner received a special prize.
