Summer Fair 2018
Redhill’s first Summer Fair, on Thursday 12th July 2018, was an enormous success. It was a beautiful sunny day and we were overwhelmed by the support from our families and wider community. There were so many amazing bargains at the bring-and-buy sale and the sweet cones and samosas all sold within an hour! The children loved the bouncy castle and the penalty shoot-out and enjoyed playing a variety of traditional games to win raffle tickets, including hook-a-duck and tin-can-alley. We had some amazing raffle prizes, including tickets to watch Aston Villa, Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion; a family ticket to visit the Sea Life Centre; a £20 Asda voucher; boxes of chocolates and various toys. The raffle draw will be made in assembly on Monday morning including the winners of ‘Guess how many sweets are in the jar’ and ‘Name the teddy’.
As well as being a fantastic community occasion, we are delighted that the event raised £758! This is a huge achievement and will enable us to buy so many well-needed things for our pupils. I will be discussing with School Council at the beginning of the next academic year how they would like to spend this money and we will keep you informed.
I would like to say a massive thank you to all the pupils (whose idea it was in the first place), staff, parents and friends of Redhill for giving up their time to make the summer fair so successful. Let’s hope next year’s will be even bigger and better!
